Hundreds of grass veneers pushed up as I walked through grass. Also 2 Silver-Y, Yellowshell, Burnet Companion & over 300 6-spot Burnets, with many on knapweeds & several mating pairs. Most I've seen locally.

Went to my first mothing session for a couple of months as I'd been away for the last two sessions. 24 species after a very wet afternoon & evening yesterday & fairly cool as the rain cleared about midnight.
MOTD was a lifer for me, micro given the English name of Long-legged Tabby & we had two of them. New for the site too.
Most numerous were Heart & Dart & Common Footman. Cloaked Minor, Clouded Border & Old World Corn Borer.
Later in the day at Kew always good to see a Hummingbird Hawkmoth, rescued a Large Yellow Underwing trapped in the toilets & Toadflax Brocade larvae on some Purple Toadflax.

There was a bioblitz in a local nature reserve close to where I was leading a walk. Some highlights from the moth trap included Blood-vein, Bird's Wing. Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing & Waved Black.
