The wind is really strong this evening- and I say that after nearly three days of it. The rain was coming down sideways the last time I looked... I'm really worried about the big tree in the garden behind us.

I went out for a walk at the height of Storm Eunice (just the way it happened, not deliberate). And we actually got it worse than some in the "red zones" (but I'm not far from a red zone anyway) and in fairly open flat countryside. At times walking into the wind was a real struggle, lean right into headwind and push hard with legs. Rain felt like hail but it wasn't, just wind was driving the droplets so hard. Managed a couple of hours.
More of an endurance than a pleasure. Nothing to see.

Drizzly, still and orangish from the Saharan sand.

Well, it was snowing a few minutes ago. Nothing determined enough to stick, just big flakes blowing about. A little strange to see, considering the daffs have been out for weeks now!

Looks as if it is going to be the same today as yesterday and many other days - warm(probably hot) and dry. Just here we really need some rain. Apart from one night when it drizzled for a bit, but not enough to wet all the ground, we haven't had any rain for just over a month.
Rain water from the butts getting used on the veg and washing water on the ornamentals.

I think it would be fair to say the water butt is now full ian

A good frost for the last couple of days and this morning around 4 inches of snow in places. Fortunately I cleaned the feeders the other day and yesterday a bag of seed and 50 fat balls arrived ian

The hardest frost here(London) was a couple of days ago(I had to melt the ice in an old frying pan used for the birds) but now it is damp and much milder.

Two days ago we had deep snow. It snowed 13cm overnight on Wednesday on top of about 10cm already lying. ww by Dave Marley, on Flickr Now all the snow has gone, raining on and off and its getting breezy prior to storm Isha arriving. Dave
