Very changable today... alternating clouds, a smattering of rain and brief spells of sunshine.
It's tipping it down this evening, though. Supposed to carry on through tomorrow.

Quite a lot of rain today- still not very cold for this time of the year, though.

Crianlarich -2C Deep frost making everything white, even the air, to say I am cold is an understatement. Beautiful sunrise. Sunrise Dec 2018a by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

Still, mild and a cloudless sky in east London. An improvement on yesterday when it was chilly.
Hope all the more northern members were not affected too badly by the weather.

I'll second that... it looks like Helen's got a lot of rain coming her way today... hope there's no flooding.

Crianlarich
We had more than just rain - Overnight Saturday we had large dumping of snow and had to dig our way out to the main road - they do keep the main roads clear, thank goodness. This followed with torrential rain and gales. Which along with the snow melt bought flooding - you could have gone white water rafting on the lower ground here. We also had a power outage - only lasted 5 hours thank goodness. It has continued to be overcast and drizzling since but at least the water has seeped away from the lower ground. The only damage was the satellite dish got whacked by snow falling off the roof and one of the CCTV cameras also - just needed a tall bloke and a ladder to straighten them up again.

East London
It is now a typical Christmas Day here - only slightly chilly, grey and damp, but between 7 and about 9 this morning it was one of the best Christmas Days I have seen for a good while.
There was some cloud but still quite a bit of sun, a good sunrise and quite heavy frost.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Crianlarich a relatively mild day - no rain! and it seems a tad warmer than the south. Chrsitmas day was overcast, cold and raining, but no matter - a super relaxed day in front of log fir, apart from having our lunch sat at the table, watching a selection of old movies The best by far was The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society about the lives of a group of people on the Gurernsey Isle during the German occupation. well worth it. Actually want to watch it again. We had all the usual Xmas food, plus decorations and crackers, said Cheers to absent friends, stayed in our pyjamas all day.

Crianlarich -7C it is very cold! It started snowing yesterday and the birds were seemingly queuing up waiting for me to go out early morning to scatter food for them. The red squirrels were trying to lift the lids of their feeders which were frozen, so had to toddle round with kettle of hot water. However everywhere looks lovely especially with the sunshine all looks so bright. Snow 22 Jan 2018c by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

It does look nice, Helen.
We got some snow last night, which immediately turned to slush... I know it causes chaos down here, but I hope we get at least one decent snowfall this winter.
It's beautiful if it's clear afterwards, with a bright blue sky overhead.

A very light dusting of snow here yesterday and below freezing overnight left the footpaths almost lethal I swear it's ever since the council pulled up the paving slabs and replaced with tarmac, it's ruddy hard work staying upright it's also a little funny trying, especially whilst hanging on to a dog ian

They promised us snow, but we didn't get it... although they've had to close the runways at Heathrow this morning.
Temps were just below zero, and the birdbath and pond both had thin layers of ice on them first thing, but the sun's out now and everything has thawed.

Crianlarich -3C Absolutely beautiful with every branch of the trees, the shrubs covered, along with everything else, glowing bright white snow in the early morning sunshine. Obviously the wild life were desperate during the night and early morning with masses of paw prints all around the grounds - Pine Marten, Red Squirrel, Fox and Roe Deer. I togged up and truged around scattering seed and mealworm for the ground feeders, brushed the snow off the hanging feeders etc. Last night the heavens were amazing the universe looked extra bright. Crianlarich Well after a spate of bad weater and storm Erik, most of the low laying snow has gone, thought yesterday was an odd day. periods of sunshsine and snowing. Woke this morning to -1C and frost, scraping the care window and all that, but the temperature as raise to 5C and it is a beautiful crisp sunny day.
