There was also another micro, and 2 tortrids which I wish I'd kept as even the county recorder was a bit perplexed by them!

That's a good list Nige!
I didn't know about the two types of Burnished Brass, I'll check them more carefully from now on.

Excellent haul Nige. Be interesting to see what turns up next week with very sultry weather for at least a few days.

Last night's haul in Kensworth, Beds.:
Clouded Silver x7 Udea olivalis x7 Straw Dot x4 Peppered Moth x2 Riband Wave x2 Small Magpie x4 Treble Brown Spot x2 Scorched Wing x3 Bee Moth x2 Buff Ermine x4 Privet Hawkmoth Elephant Hawkmoth Large Yellow Underwing x2 Middle-barred Minor x3 Mottled Beauty Lesser Yellow Underwing x2 Heart And Dart x14 Large Nutmeg x12 Large Fruit-tree Tortrix The Flame x3 Double Square-spot x2 Dark Arches x7 Willow Beauty x10 The Rustic x2 The Uncertain x6 The Campion Agapeta zoegana (Dark form) The Spectacle The Drinker Heart And Club x3 Beautiful Hook-tip Setaceous Hebrew Character x2 Brown Rustic x3 Small Blood-vein Rustic Shoulder-knot x3 Eudonia lacustrata Agapeta hamana x2 Ingrailed Clay x2 Common Footman x2 Mottled Pug x2 Marbled Minor agg. 2 Plain Golden Y x6 Green Pug x3 Lobster Moth Celypha lacunana x2 Light Brown Apple Moth Light Arches Red Twin-spot Carpet x2 Light Emerald Treble Lines x2 Single-dotted Wave Scoparia ambigualis Common Marbled Carpet x2 Double-striped Pug Small Yellow Wave Orange Footman Cinnabar Brimstone Silver-ground Carpet Snout x2 Common Wave Barred Fruit-tree Tortrix Eudonia mercurella Small Dusty Wave Shoulder-striped Wainscot Dusky Brocade Marbled Orchard Tortrix Clepsis consimilana
The last three moths were entirely new for me.
171 moths was possibly a little disappointing for a warm night at the end of June, but 67 species wasn't bad (almost double the previous highest I've seen this year of 35, two weeks ago). So perhaps things are picking up after a dreadful start to the year.
