My first Bombus pascuorum of the season with 3 seen. Also noted a queen B. lucorum in the garden.

We were canal dipping this morning with a wildlife watch group, loads of specimens in our trays but my favourite - Caddis Fly Larvae.

Large Red Damselfly flew across the path in front of me this afternoon, (and promptly disappeared off into the distance).
I didn't see it well enough to actually ID the species but I doubt it was anything else.

I spent an hour watching a huge aggregation of Ashy Mining Bee's (Andrena cineraria) this afternoon, although none of these lovely little bee's are my insect of the day. That goes to the male Black Oil Beetle (Meloe proscarabaeus) which was walking about amongst them and getting dive bombed every few seconds.

My insect (well two of them actually) are these lovely Red Mason Bees (Osmia bicornis) feeding on a Dandelion.

Highlights today included a beefly, Bombylius major, a Rhagio sp Snipefly + several Gastrophysa viridula on docks.

My first Odonata today with a couple of Hairy Dragonflies at Dungeness plus a couple of unidentified damselflies rapidly flying away.
