Lesser celandine flowering by the roadside near Preston this past weekend. Have also seen an "umbel" flowering by the roadside towards Cleveleys - traffic was slow-moving but not slow enough to get a good look at the leaves! (perhaps Sweet Cicely or Cow Parsley). March/April flowers in January!

March/April flowers in January! I saw some Lesser Celandine blooming this morning, and I thought the same thing...it's way too earlier for that!

Strictly speaking not a flower, but this has got to be the most impressive ball of mistletoe I think I've ever seen... up in the top of a tree in a north london park today.

Impressive. I saw a similar sized ball last Friday somewhere in south-west London while on the road.
For today some flowering Red Dead-nettle

Common Daisy, Bellis perennis, in roadside grass, but not enough to make it Spring yet. (Folklore has it that it's not Spring until you can cover nine Daisy flowers with your foot).
