Louis Armstrong was very frail when he recorded this having recovered from a second heart attack and failing kidneys, but he wanted so very much to record this he carried on. So much so he walked over and thanked John Barry taking him by the hand and shaking it warmly; such is the personality of the ESFJ type, the second most common. Clearly showing the traits of an extrovert e.g., outgoing, creative, nurturing, sensitive, values, and extremely supportive; also known as the people’s personality. She walked in beauty I haven’t been as actively posting of late, to that I know what you’re thinking, what’s the title to this piece got to do with music, but everything is relative in my world at least I like think so, but hey ho read on if you dare. And no, I haven’t lost it I do assure you I’ve just been carrying out a study of personality types as animal behaviour is related to human behaviour; having said that. In affect I’ve discovered my type is always thinking about their next project with a fiery enthusiasm about the causes that are so important to them to which this study is remarkably accurate. Now this next statement may sound like another huge jump but can you read between my lines, in other words are you astute, you can? well try this on for size, so in reference to my family tree a one Irish Kate and Violet was one of the same person, being my second cousin in law. She always dressed impeccable, a regular angel in my eyes one might say. I do wish I had a photograph of her likeness too, but no matter she remains indelibly printed upon my mind; even though I was just young child at the time. But here’s the rub, one human type to avoid at all costs is the very sneaky type. I refer to this type as arrogance personified, in other words the (I know best type) you most probably know at least one, as they’re quite common. This type may well appear of good character and may or may not display light-heartedness but in reality, wear the mask of deceit, be they be extraverted or indeed introverted. I could name at least two very famous extravert rock stars whom display this trait but there are most probably many more. But please, please don’t get me started on famous actors. Well, there's a Peter Pan moon, shepherd's delight I got the dragon at noon, yes, and I won the fight now, I want my reward in heaven tonight just like you promised. Angel of mercy you'll come to no harm Angel of mercy, there's no need for alarm the knight in his armour wants a night in your arms you know, he's honest. Haven't seen that one in a while Ian. Now and again I have a look and listen to Abby. Listening to an old one from Lucky Chops - www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddijvwAMw0oAll are accomplished musicians especially Joshua Gawel(trumpet) and Leo Pellegrino(baritone sax) Along with the overall sound I enjoy the energy and the effortless sliding from the main piece into well known tunes. I’m sentimental if you know what I mean I love the country but I can’t stand the scene, I’m neither left or right I’m just staying home tonight getting lost in that hopeless little screen. Leonard Cohen May I ask how you fared with the little puzzle I left on my last post, not very well I wager as it may have been just too difficult to understand, my fault entirely I’m afraid, nevertheless here’s the answer to the conundrum. It’s a very long story but I should now be able to trace the very settlement in Iceland where my family originally came from. At this point in time, I’m following the Celtic / Irish connection for it was the green-eyed race, the rarest colour of them all (I have green colour eyes) that came from Ireland to wit Norse – Gaels. This is where oral history lends a hand as church records only go back as far as the 1500s, but the latest information I’ve gathered should take the search back to something like the year 874 and the town now known as Husavik the origin of my family I believe. So far, this study has taken four years in turn driving me on to study personality types something that has really sparked an interest, being most important to me. Explaining why I have such a fiery determination to see the project through to the end no matter what I’m studying; everything is relative remember. But then again you know me, I do like to make my posts more interesting whenever possible in turn adding some background rather than giving very little detail. However, at the same token I’d prefer not to give too” much personal information a way but I will say I was named Alan after my father and George after one of three uncles who fell in the great war. Having said that I’ve had several light bulb moments during this long search in essence following leads from far and wide making the whole thing even more interesting I should also add my short-term memory has always been terrible that’s partly why I have so much avian information acquired from observing their behaviour on file. Having said that I well remember Mother having a very small bronze figure of Jesus as he appeared on the cross. Terrible to see as it had a bullet hole through the chest, found on the battle field and sent home I presume. But like so many things today on passing items of sentimental value are merely thrown in a skip and forgotten by the family members that remain. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. With the great war in mind hold that thought whilst I conclude this post… During the North African campaign, a bunch of soldier boys had been on a long hike and they arrived in a little town called Casino. The next morning being Sunday, several of the boys went to Church. A sergeant commanded the boys in Church and after the Chaplain had read the prayer, the text was taken up next. Those of the boys who had a prayer book took them out, but this one boy had only a deck of cards. Wink Martindale Deck of cards www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYRFUUTu3JU

There’s nothing new in music. You’ve most probably heard Jeff beck passed away recently, so I thought I’d dedicate this post to him. Even though I’m no great fan of his guitar style, much preferring the melodic style of Mark Knopfler. Having said that if it wasn’t for Jeff Beck, I probably would have never purchased a bass guitar having heard the boogie woogie bass pattern played in the song I’ve posted. Those of a good ear will no doubt hear the pattern used in this song, and in hundreds of others including blues, pop, rock, and jazz, ever since the world was born, well almost. Incidentally, don’t become fixated by the guitar lick at the beginning, as it’s a very simple lick, although it sounds impressive made so by the over driven tone. But here’s the interesting part, the bass pattern can be altered to suit almost any style of music, take a listen to (You’re the one that I want) by Olivia Newton John some time. Once again those of a good ear will still hear the basic note pattern, only the notes have been arranged in a different sequence if that makes sense. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God. Sorry, I should have said… A brief history of popular music. So where should I start, perhaps at the beginning of the 20th century with a type of music known as swing, - a type of jazz. However, in 1945 a one Lonnie Donegan became interested in the guitar, by the end of the1940s he was playing with in small jazz clubs in and around London with the Chris Barber jazz band. At this point he also played the banjo as well as guitar where he more or less invented a type of music termed as skiffle. I say more or less, as skiffle was being played in the 1920s it’s just that Lonnie Donegan popularised it. However, by 1957, a whole host of guitar players became interested in skiffle including me, and every youth in Great Britain, well almost. Later on, many more guitar players joined the list. But less start with the Beatles, Rolling stones, Led Zeppelin, and Mark Knopfler. In fact, Mark Knopfler was so impressed by Lonnie Donegan he wrote and dedicated a song to him, entitled Donegan’s Gone. At this point you may be asking yourself didn’t Boogie Woogie begin as a piano riff, and to that you would be correct. Although it wasn’t called Boogie Woogie in the beginning but barrelhouse, the up-tempo version fast western. Popularised by a few piano players including a chap by the name of Albert Ammons in the 1920s - 1930s and onwards. The list of piano players who further popularised the style is very long, so I’ll just mention a few names I feel sure you would have heard of. Fats Waller, fats Domino, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and much later Jools Holland. I should also give Chas and Dave a mention as they wrote a song all about Boogie Woogie, having been intrigued by its history. Just some of the lyrics going something like this. Now Boogie was about along long time ago, Boogie Woogie was around long before the discos. Now Boogie had a partner and that’s who is on about, Boogies doing alright but Mr Woogie been aimed out. Incidentally, Chas learned how to play the piano simply by watching Jerry Lee lewis. But what can I say about Jerry Lee Lewis, now let me see, self-taught piano player but was considered the best rock and roll Boogie Woogie player in the world. Married seven times, thief, bigamist, sexual predator, liar, and felt society’s rules didn’t apply to him i.e., a sociopath. Add to that also known as the killer, hellraiser. What's this then? social comment or just scary talent. Both for me maybe he's just of his age.
There some bad language and the story is kinda hard to listen to. I'd also say listen to Violets Tale it's more of the same but harder to listen to.
Worth it though, I think ian

From many years ago (childhood) I loved the interpretations of Isao Tomita (mostly classical pieces played on Moog synthesisers).
Good to know it's not ` lost art (M oogs that still work and people with the skills to use them)
I also still love other Moog/synthesiser performers, in particular Tangerine Dream, both from their Phaedra era and more recent stuff though no idea if they are still composing new pieces after the loss of Edgar Froese. Back in the 1970's live Tangerine Dream Phaedra performance was one of the most amazing and unusual concerts I've been to.
