I thought these biggies appearing in the house were garden spiders, but now I am not so sure. Bums seem to have a black arrow marking. This one is 4cm. I measured from the end of right back leg to end of right front leg. ID If possible please.

Not Garden Spiders which mature late summer. Looks like one of the Tegenaria clan to me.

I have looked at images of Tengenaria and none of them seem to have what looks like a black arrow on their body's rear, they seem to have a more stripy pattern.

Check out the various Lace-weaver species: Amaurobius fenestralis, similis or ferox.

Thanks ayjay - Definitely looks like Amaurobius similis. Like the name Lace-weaver.
