I'm going to have to watch this once I get through the holidays.... interesting idea. Wouldn't the shifting sands be a problem? Although I'm sure they have taken that into consideration.

Should we solar panel the Sahara?
They would at least be out of sight.
There's no shortage of the things popping up around here, and they are to my mind an eyesore, only time will tell whether they are beneficial or detrimental to wildlife.
I've just spent a few days in Pembrokeshire (my son lives down there) and there is a large area of what were agricultural fields close to the Valero refinery which is now covered in solar panels that weren't there two years ago. It's a major eyesore in my opinion.
The refinery I've always seen there and accept it, the solar panels are new and represent a change for the worse.
That's just my purely selfish viewpoint, I expect had I seen the area before the refinery was built I'd feel the same about that.

Solar panel the Sahara ridiculous sounds like an idea from the NIMBY brigade if you ask me im afraid to say i don't in along with all the rip off hair brained ideas sorry everyone
