Wilco Johnson (the man who cheated the grim reaper) and Roger Daltrey Distance memories of Lambrettas, Telecasters, playing and dancing in the old youth club and sleeping out under the stars Going back Home https://www..com/watch?v=LeoKCJNI-k4 Alan Yep memories indeed. I am listening to Queen - the best of. Bought recently and did not realise that it was a revamp of the last 'Best of' so I now have three, each with a couple of tracks different from the last.

Reef Place your hands The bass player here certainly knows how to use the tasteful groove Paul McCartney style. Just in case you cannot catch the lyrics the vocalist is asking God to help him through the pain of losing his grandfather from cancer (place your hands on my hope www.youtube.com/watch?v=bihoNRc8GDQAlan

Mario Lanza I particularly like this one too Helen my father use to sing this to my mother while playing the piano, he also sang (La vie en rose) for our first dance at our wedding and I sang it at our son’s wedding, a tradition we very much hope will be carried on and on. This I always follow up by singing (My boomerang won’t come back by Charlie Drake,) the father of the groom speech is highly enjoyable too; this is where Alan really did get into his stride! Moonlight serenade Could this beauty last forever I would ask for nothing more believe me let this night but live forever more www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAm1H3EZOyADean Martin La vie en rose www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMNi88ALyasCharlie Drake My Boomerang won’t come back www.youtube.com/watch?v=_prtbj4MtDUAlan

Got me going again listening to Moonlight Serenade. I am having to be careful what I play - just too many memories come flooding back. Music is so evocative. Even playing Elton John's Your song or Ronan Keating's When you say nothing at all sets me off. Hey ho! It is a new year must get a grip!

I've been listening pretty much every day since the new year to Stryper's latest album. They're a Christian heavy metal band going since 1984, still producing great music and lyrics! One of my favs www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBdoO1FUdngNige

Love this song Nige The Eagles
Thanks Nige, but today has been a very sad day for me as I said goodbye to one of my favourite musicians Glenn Frey, so I have chosen this beautiful song (it’s your world now) as a tribute. A quick search revealed that they have chosen the very same song. The last verse I find extremely poignant It's your world now, use well the time be part of something good, leave something good behind the curtain falls, I take my bow that's how it's meant to be, it's your world now it's your world now, it's your world now Rip Glenn Frey musician, producer, and actor founding member of the Eagles Also Rip Tom a lifelong friend, musketeer, and a believer A very beautiful song for a beautiful person drew together by fate, guardian angel, call it what you will. Josh Groban O Holy night
