Seems to be even more garden spiders than usual this year, it's difficult to walk in the garden without hitting a web,
web building space is obviously at a premium, & it looks like there may be some competition going on.
I've never seen a spider actively destroying another's web in order to build there.
Caught these two females having a bit of a territory struggle, the top one was obviously snipping the other one's anchor-lines,
and about half an hour later it had built the main stucture of it's own web in the same place !
Bit surprised to see this, thought it must be a bit dangerous for the aggressor,
but I assume it's a normal behaviour in response to limited web-building hot-spots ?
