Did you get any other photos? Structurally it looks good for female palmate but cant really confirm it from this angle, it would be good to see one of the more definitive features.

I didn't take the photo, and at the moment that's all there is. However, as I was aware no one could positively ID it from this pic, I was thinking of going back to the secret location for a better photoshoot. What features will be most useful for a proper identification please Dogghound?

Palmates are more compact, slightly smaller and have a more pyriform shape to the abdomen so you can tentatively suggest it is a female palmate. The definitive feature would be to photograph or observe it's throat. If it is an almost translucent pink colour with no spots it's palmate, if it's a more mat yellow/orange it's smooth.
