Not very good, I know, but I think this is the first photo I've ever got of an Adder (or part of one). Somebody kindly pointed it out to me at the 'Adder viewing point' at Minsmere, yesterday. I used to see Adders very occasionally when I lived in Suffolk between 1991-2005 (and I reported them to the county recorder), but I don't think I've seen one since I moved back to the Chilterns. Hardly surprising you needed it pointing out. It's very well hidden.
There are adders in London I was told. Hard to believe, but there you go.

At least 3 sites in London with Adders; 2 of which I'm familiar with. One has very small population which may not be viable long term + the other has a substantial number.
