I can understand why some observatories are concerned about satellites interfering with their astronomical observations.

Never ceases to amaze me that every time I walk outside at night and look up do I see multiple satellites overhead going in all directions and of differing brightness ian

I know what you mean, Ian.
Although I don't see satellites every time I look to the night sky, they are, understandably, much more common than some years ago. I remember when seeing a satellite used to be an unusual event and worth mentioning.

He's launched thousands of them recently. Looking towards the west last night, after sunset, what I thought were two planes coming towards me with their landing lights full on turned out to be planets Jupiter and Venus!

Don't know if there starlink or not they do travel in all directions as for the planets I wondered who they were so thanks snowlynx ian
