I’m sentimental, if you know what I mean, I love the country but I can’t stand the scene. And I’m neither left or right I’m just staying home tonight, getting lost in that hopeless little screen. - Leonard Cohen…
I wouldn’t normally comment on all things political but given the present state of affairs I thought I’d say a few words…
Undercurrent of noses in the trough / morally bankrupt and hypocritical.
And no, I’m not turned into Victor Meldrew, or indeed the present band of demented ferrets in charge, whom wouldn’t know the difference between a rabbit or a hare if their very life depended on it; let alone the cost-of-living crisis. Yes them, the very same hypocritical party whom clapped and cheered for the nurses but refused to give them a decent standard of living ergo the fat cats of this world; as opposed to the populous we the serfs.
In essence we’re living in a world in which greed reigns supreme due to dogma. Unfortunately, greed is also the catalyst of hatred part of the human condition of those whom choose to turn their back on the rest of society. Which reminds me, there is an old saying that fits the bill perfectly – “I’m alright Jack.”

Couldn't agree more.
I am not a Conservative voter but with the old school conservatives(eg Clarke, Heseltine, Major) even I would accept they had principles. They believed in what they were saying.
I do not feel this at all with the present crew.
There have been a number of events/actions that in the past, when made public, would have resulted, not in an immediate sacking, but in immediate resignation because the person concerned would have accepted their behaviour had fallen below what was expected. This does not seem to happen now - there appears to be no moral compass.
I think the last 12 years have been some of the most interesting politically that I have lived through, and often for all the wrong reasons.
An interesting comment here from an old school Conservative who knows right from wrong -

Far point, Ian. That aspect of his personal life wasn't something I would applaud and while someone's personal behaviour can affect how he/she behaves in their professional life I don't think in John Major's case it did.
But, of course we only 'know' what we are told or find out. Just seems now there is a lot to know.

Dave Adultery is indicative of someone lacking in moral compass, empathy and a whole range of issues. Those in high places seem to revel in such behaviour need I say more.

It made me angry when the media rolled out the likes of Major in there constant campaign to get rid of Boris not only were they long time Boris haters but also ardent remainers so they sit there all concerned and truthful like "as if" spilling out doom and gloom and demonising him and the press lapped it up. It suited there agender. I fell this country is run more by the media than by the elected government, what a sorry state of affairs. Don't think I'm a Boris fanboy or even a tory fan I'm far from it, in fact I doubt there's a politician out there worth any body's vote. OH I think I can just hear in the distance the laughter in Brussels and France as they'll be expecting the next shower to try and re-join. That'll leave us so far up whatever that creeks called without a paddle and a leaky boat to boot ian
