Here are the promised photos of the fringed water lily... I really do need to take about half of it out. I don't know why it's doing so well this summer... it's languished for the past several years. I was so pleased to see it come back again in the spring that I keep putting it off. (Hoping it will flower, too.)
Maybe I should fish it out, quarantine it for a week in a bucket and advertise it on Freecycle. A pond centre would charge £££ for that many plants!
As it is now, the little froglets love it- they and the tads with new legs like to crawl out and sit on a lily pad, while the older frogs just lurk underneath.
I'm not seeing as many newts this year, though.
