I assume that the brightest thing in the early morning sky low south east is Venus? It was fair popping around 7 this morning whilst I was stood in me nighty trying to encourage the puppy out into the windy garden ian

Yes you are correct, Ian.
Both Mars and Mercury are in the same region of the sky(Mars a bit lower and to the right of Venus and Mercury lower and to the left) but both are much less bright than Venus. I looked for them this morning but could not find them.

Up early doors as is the norm, I've had word with the pup but she still thinks 5am is time to get up Still on the bright it's nice and fresh and the moon was bright with good views of Jupiter? just above it ian

I agree with Luna about the time to get up. It is the best time of the day, temperature-wise.

Up around 7am this morning that's classed as a lie-in for me, looked out of the window sort of south west Jupiter shining brightly got the scope out of my wardrobe and hand held it for a better view the planet and 4 moons clearly visible Down stairs looking out of the kitchen window south east-ish and Venus shining even brighter Took the dog out a tad frosty especially the cars, winter draws on ian
