Just to say shingles can be very painful and serous especially if it appears in the eye, leading to blindness in that eye, in my wife case she was very lucky in that it only appeared on one side of her forehead. Due to the fact doctors’ appointments aren’t that easy at the moment she went to the pharmacist where they diagnosed it immediately. I should also say I’m booked in for the vaccine on Wednesday 19th. In the meantime, the pharmacist gave her a medication to cool the effected area and advised to ask for a doctor’s prescription for further medication therefore pills. www.nhs.uk/conditions/shingles/

Sorry to hear this. I know from the experience Mrs Tringa had some years ago, Shingles is extremely unpleasant.
All the best to your wife.

Dave Many thanks Dave, funny thing is we had intended to have the vaccine at the end of January, but the rash suddenly appeared on the Friday so by the time it was self-evident on the Monday (yesterday) it had spread down towards eye and now on her eyelid – ophthalmic. Its now so close to her eye she is now under the hospital eye specialist. I only mentioned it in the first place to alert members to the fact if you are eligible, it’s well worth having the vaccine.

I hope she's going to be okay- being so close to her eye like that must be concerning.
