Difficult to observe but something that amazes me (although it's nothing more than orbital effects), 14 Oct Mercury went retrograde for a bit.
In some ways it relates to the meaning of the word "planet" (wanderer) where the planets arrear to "wander" over the sky.
An animation illustrating the retrograde motion (where the planets appear to move backwards)
in the animation Mercury switches to retrograde at 0:40 into the video, then a bit later Saturn goes retrograde, etc.
Retrograde motion continues until 2 Nov. Probably not something you can actually observe given the Sun! Mercury drops below the horizon around 17:00. So just one of those thing amazing but you can't observe this example
