Good morning everyone,
swarms of small flies round the periphery of our small pond. Does anyone know what they are and when they will leave?

Many species of fly breed in & around ponds so without a photo it's impossible to say what they are.

you could look up Chironomidae and Simulidae to see if they look similar?
