The trail camera is out most nights to capture what is happening.
The hedgehog on this video is a regular visitor but I can't work out what is the 'thing' that floats/drifts across from left to right.
The bright reflection of IR light is moth like, but it doesn't move like a moth.
I wondered if it was a spider floating on a strand of web.
Any thoughts welcomed.

Hi Dave,
I don't think it is a spider floating on web.
Whatever it is it is moving on the ground. At a guess it could be a largish beetle with a highly reflective carapace.
Harold.

I'm intreagued' as it diminishes as it floats towards the camera so it's not a crisp packet in the breeze!
Cheers, Tony.

Thanks for the replies. I've viewed the video many times and can't come to any conclusion.
Puzzled

could it be a mouse or something with very reflective eyes? Or with something stuck to it's head? Would you normally be able to see mice on your camera? Interesting puzzle

Thanks, Teasel but not a mouse.
A long tailed field mouse lives somewhere in the garden and is occasionally caught on camera. I've seen a mouse at the same distance as the 'thing' on the above video and at that distance the mouse if very clear - the eyes, radar disk ears and tail show up very well.
I'm still puzzled, but thanks anyway.

it's very quick. And it seems to have feelers. Harold's beetle seems most likely. Do spiders have reflective bits? I'll stop guessing now

Some sort of invertebrate seems most likely and it does appear to move on its own towards the end of the video. We see a few harvestman now and again, I wonder if it might be one of those.
