The tadpoles aren't interested in the cucumber slices I gave them yesterday...but there are so many daphnia in the pond, it's not surprising. They are in huge numbers this year- so many that in some areas the water looks almost pink- so a plentiful food supply for the growing tads. Attachment Deleted

Thanks for the reminder about the boiled lettuce...I'd forgotten about that. I just bought a few nasturtiums last week at the garden centre, so they can't have those just yet!

They like pet fish food too. I bought some at the pet shop for mine.

Thanks, Deb- they are difficult to photograph...they do dart about so. That was on full zoom, so they are slightly out of focus. They are amazing little things- quite large colonies of them in between all the water soldiers, (which I need to thin out I noticed today- dozens of them have surfaced in the warmer weather!) I did have some fish food tablets last year, (spirulina, or something like that?) I think I had some left over, must see if I can find them. I would drop a tablet into a terracotta plant saucer submerged on a pond shelf, and the tadpoles would swarm all over it!
