The pond went through an interesting transformation after we emptied and cleaned it back in the autumn.
It went a very cloudy green for several weeks, but has now cleared... I can see through to the bottom, and the clumps of hornwort lying about having submerged itself until spring.
Today I saw five frogs- three beneath the cascade, (no fountain, it just provides them with a way in and out if they want it) and two more in amplexus.
Isn't this unusually early?? I know it's a bit milder today, but even so... in previous years they haven't started doing that until the days grow longer.

It does seem early for the London area though they often spawn very early in the milder south-west down in Cornwall + parts of Devon.
