A look out the bedroom window 10 to 6 yesterday morning the blackback gulls were flying over couldn't see them but we hear them every morning it's like being at the coast some days A small bat flew past the window in to the woods and a pair of tawny owl were saying goodnight to each other, the robin was just starting to tick tick followed by the wood pigeons and others birds just firing up. A rustle in the shrubs under the window a hedgehog my guess, just settling down. Nice start to the day. Later a walk through the wood all the usual birds around not many ducks on the lake yet, a few puffballs along the path you can't resist giving them a little tap with your toe, the odd earthball too A drive out in to the country side which looks and smells great this time of year. The crops harvested and bales of straw scattered around the smell of freshly turned soil the not so fresh smell of what ever it is there putting on the fields. Oh an ice cream at my favourite shop I love this time of year ian

I love autumn, too- I just wish that it lasted a little longer! (and didn't lead into winter )
