I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in Media, but since the whole incident is so bizarre, (and the listing is funny) I thought I'd share it here.
The link is to the Ebay listing of one of the anonomous 'gifts' Mr. Packham has received recently.... it sold for £2,550!
In case the listing should disappear over the next few days, (I'm not sure how long Ebay archive sold items for) this is the description... I won't reproduce the photo of the item, because Flickr might not be amused.
"Chris Packham's Two-Headed Tadpole.
Rough sawn Wooden Plaque - probably Spruce - decorated with simple motif
A unique wooden plinth/plaque dating from 2019 inscribed with a simple motif , probably using a Sharpie , featuring a two-headed tadpole or an infantile depiction of human male genitalia .
If it’s the latter then the organs are most likely drawn to the scale of the artist because this unfortunately unsigned artefact was posted anonymously to Mr Chris Packham presumably as an insult or a threat . A 50 pence piece is provided for scale in the photographs .
Although crudely fashioned , the object has some small cultural significance and its purchase will allow all of the funds raised to be passed to Wild Justice , a not for profit company whose singular purpose is to see the UK's wildlife protection laws implemented , upheld or amended to offer better protection to animals , plants and their environments .
Please bid generously .
Sizes:
Wood block
68.0 mm x 22.0 mm x 195mm
Penis length 80.0 mm
Width (average) 19.0 mm
Testes diameter 20.0 - 22.0 mm
A fully substantiated Certificate of Authentication will be provided and the item can either be posted or left at your gate with dead animals to recreate the original form of delivery . "
