I'm glad Helen that you are enjoying my posts, when I was on WAB there was a member who was realy into spiders, Venger was the name he went by, he taught me quite a bit about spiders and I spent hours in my reference books reading up on them, he sent me a link to a site that showed pen and ink drawings of spiders eye sets, now, if you can photograph the eyes you could ID the spider to the genus and in some cases the species, I will put this on at some stage, I printed it off and made a small booklet out of it, Keep posting Duncan

Yes, I remember Venger. He was good and quite modest with it IIRC.
In your photo, isn't the epigyne label pointing to the wrong place?

I have amended the photo of Araneus quadratus (ventral veiw) showing the book lungs and epygine in their correct place, how I managed to place the arrows under it's chin I realy don't know, I should know better, Duncan
