This is one I haven't seen before- black and white butterfly, (or moth?)
Not a great photo, but this was the one time it settled long enough for me to get anything! When it was flying it was much more contrast between the black and the white.

Yes. A species doing very well in recent years- now see it in all the meadows near me. Years ago this would have been unimaginable + would have to go to some downland. For interest Marbled White is one of the "brown" rather than one of the "whites"!

It was difficult to photograph... none of the wildflowers available seemed to take its fancy. I followed it around for ages before it finally landed for a brief moment and I was able to take this one photo. A lot of the ones in Google images are on thistles, and the ones in the field where we were hadn't opened fully yet.
Maybe if we go back in a few months, there might be more of these butterflies about.
