Lots of young in the woods now and the oak and sycamore at the front of us sound full of tits, young great and blue tits checking out the feeders and the first coal tits showing up since Christmas time ian

On the young front just Siskins, but Coal, Blue and Great Tits, Blackbirds and Mistle Thrush and a couple of House Martins feeding their young. I think the Jays must be as well but maybe only two of them as the other Jays are still coming to the feeders.

I often have doubts about feeding during the breeding season, times I see blue tits flying off with peanuts bothers me and first thing this morning as I looked out of the window a pair of blue tits were stuffing 2 fledglings all sat on the feeders with lumps off the fat balls. Guess it's a case of an easy meal for overworked adults or too easy to stuff young with low value food ian
