trolling through my trail cam ever day it suddenly dawned on me that the Bank Voles seemed to be most active at night when it was raining heavily. I have decided that this is a survival strategy as owls and other night creatures seldom hunt when there is heavy rain. They do appear if the food is near their bolt holes (round the feeders) but not in the wider open ground as they have done in the pouring rain. Just a thought:)

Interesting observation.
Bryan, from his observations on SEO's, would, I think, have some useful info. Here the trail camera has never caught a vole (usually we see them during the day). The only rodent captured by our trail camera is a wood mouse, or three.

Interesting yes. I wonder of Bryan has this info? Bit busy with his book I suspect.
