I love woodlands and even somewhere like Sherwood not so far from the visitor centre there are still some nice quite footpaths to be found. My first trip this year and surprised how dry the ground was my local woods are wet through and popping shrooms all over the place. 25 miles away in Sherwood and not so much. Bird life was very quite to just the odd twittering and a few nuthatch calling, they always sound like someone skimming stones on an frozen water to me. Anyhow here's a couple of pic's first one Tawney Grisette? Pink Waxcap? no idea for the last one. ian Tawney grisette by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr

Nice photos, especially that last one.
I wanted to get a photo of some tiny mushrooms that appeared in my garden around the pond a few evenings ago- when I went out the next morning they had vanished! Amazing how they can do that.

The second image is probably Laccaria laccata while the third is, I think a Pluteus (but you need to see the gill colour and attachment to be sure).
