Anybody any idea why so many green bottle flies are hanging around my thyme plant they appear to be feeding on the nectar. There not on other flowers. Don't want to spray or cut the flowers off because of the bees and hover flies feed there too. Just seems a bit strange there's dozens of them. Don't think there are any bodies buried in the garden They do shine like little jewles though and so far there not bothering to enter the house . ian.

I don't know, but it's interesting because today I noticed there were lots of flies around either the sage or mallow, (they are growing side by side) and I couldn't understand what was attracting so many. They looked like houseflies, not the shiny green ones though. I'll see if it happens again tomorrow morning.
