Found this on the path in the garden today... it is about the smallest shell I think I've ever found. I'd be grateful for any ideas as to what bird it's come from! Unidentified Eggshell 2017 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

Possibly Wren- colouration looks good for this + a common resident species that was be on its first clutch now.

Robin successfully hatched, they normally lay 5 to 6 eggs in a clutch laid 2 to 3 times a year starting in March, the markings do vary though from small speckles to blotches to unmarked 20 x 15 mm in size but can also vary a little.
Wrens eggs are mainly white specked with reddish brown often at the large end 16 x 13 mm in size laid in April and are pointed at one end.
