I saw that about red squirrels carrying leprosy... the article it links to goes on to say- "The last recorded case of indigenous leprosy contracted in the UK dates from 1798." I think out of all the things I have to worry about today, I can give red-squirrel leprosy a miss. That's great news about the Golden Eagles.

Yep saw both on on the TV programme, quite interesting at least leprosy is painless and does not seem to effect those squirrels that have it. The Golden Eagles are being well protected on those estates that have them.
