I am not expecting an id on this, since the photo is of the spider's underside, (couldn't get around the other side of it without breaking the web.)

Also known as a Garden or sometimes called a Cross Spider - Araneus diadematus. I do love their markings and am often surprised at where I get to see them This one was on a rocky cliff face
