It seems to be concentrated on the same estate, so hopefully they are moving in to find the culprit and that there are prosecutions.

So sad to see yet another magnificent bird suffer like this, of course we do not know for certain what has happened to this bird but one can only hope it has not falling into the hands of mindless criminals.

It is very sad, but all too predictable.
While aristocrats can still make money by providing grouse for others to shoot it will never be stopped.
From Wiki.
The government subsidy to moor owners is £56/ha per annum, equivalent to £158,600 for a 7,000-acre (2,800 ha) moor.
Meanwhile: The fixed annual cost of running a grouse moor with two keepers is approximately £75,000.
The cost to take part in a grouse shoot at one Yorkshire estate range from £35 per bird to £43 per bird and a large shoot can charge £33,000 per day.

I understand the petition for the banning of driven grouse shooting has been turned down by parliament so no surprise there then, and wait for it the RSPB supports driven grouse shooting hmm strange is it not. As I like many others always thought RSPB stands for the royal society for the protection of birds; hmm I suppose in this particular case it depends on which bird takes precedence the hen harrier or the grouse.
