We went camping in Kent last week, near Margate. We saw a barn owl flying back and forth hunting on two of the mornings we were there... I could not get a decent photo of it, (this one was the best I could manage) and I am filled with admiration for all the superb photos that Brian (KentYeti) is able to take of owls. The owner of the site confirmed that it was a barn owl...there is an owl box in a neighbouring field, and they have chicks this year. I found these two on a path that the owl flew over frequently, and I was wondering if these might be barn owl feathers? I am pleased that I have finally seen a barn owl.

It looks very much like one yes, as one might expect the primary flight feathers are much easier to id 3 to 5 brown bars passing straight through both webs and showing white down the inner web, sandy coloring down outer web mottled light brown on the tip.

Great... they've been added to my feather collection.
