Both of these appeared in the lawn (a rather grandiose description of the green bit outside) in the last few days. This tiny pale one has a cap of just 6mm diameter the stem approx 3cm. The gills are the same creamy colour as the outer part of the cap surface but in some the stem darkens towards the top. I tried leaving specimens on paper (white and dark grey) but no sign of spores after a couple of days - the fungi very quickly turned black and shrivelled up. This one has caps up to 4cm diameter and stems of 3.3cm. The top surface of the cap is slightly concave. Left on its side overnight it produced reddish brown spores. Alf

The top image is of Rickenella swartzii. The second is an Entoloma, but a microscopic examination is needed to determine species (the commonest grassland Entoloma is E. conferendum).
