I have always had a good variety of birds around my feeding stations in my garden. One surprise bird has been two pair of Reed Buntings that have been coming to my garden for at least the last two years. Considering I live in Coventry on a housing estate this has always surprised me.
Lately though only one male has been coming to the garden but a few minutes ago I heard a bump on my small kitchen window. Knowing that it was a bird strike I went outside to see if a bird had gone to ground.
Sad to say it was the male Reed Bunting and it was gasping heavily. I gently picked it up bad sadly it it passed away in my hands. A very sad moment for me.

Sad indeed John. Though I have small numbers locally I've never seen one in my garden + would probably be shocked to see one.
