Do pine martens have latrines, like badgers do near their setts? I ask this because it seems to me that the pine martens (1 adult 2 juniors) here are using the lean-to wood shed for their latrine (annoying wee devils) so I am wondering if they have set up home either in the wood shed or near by.

I have not heard of pine martens using/making latrines in the same way as badgers and I've seen quite a bit of, what I assumed was, pine marten poo in lots of different places.
Having pine martens set up home in your shed could be a great photo-opportunity and I'd guess it would ensure there are no rodents in the shed.

I haven't heard of using a shed as a latrine site, I think they would normally use more prominent features such as logs or stones especially for territory marking - maybe they want the shed to themselves?

I can't see any signs of them setting up home, however we have planks across the inside roof area where we store long planks of wood and ladders, so maybe up there. Do have a bit of a problem with them setting up home there though. It is were we store our logs and last years a wagtail built it's nest and had 3 babes, luckily we did not have to get any logs for the fires (chimneys being rebuilt).
