I have a tank at home which was empty for a while... and I hate an empty cage / pen / tank. so I put some compost in, along with some bits of bark, rocks and things, planted it up with various small "weeds" and introduced some garden mini-beasts. Various snails and slugs, some woodlice, beetles and millipedes. 2 moth caterpillars found their way in too, and have cocooned themselves on the wall off the tank. Anyway, I thought I would share a couple of images, taken today. The snails and slugs like it so much they have bred. A lot. milli 356x377 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr snailbaby 227x395 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

It is in our kitchen Deb... I find them fascinating to watch. I will get a pic of the set-up if you are interested.

"real" plants include grass, groundsel, dandelion, shepherds purse, feverfew and lettuce. Also added, plastic plants, gem stones and wooden toadstools amongst other things. Spray with water a couple of times a day, and add salad leaves, cucumber etc daily for them to eat.
