Sorting through some old photos I found this picture taken in Scotland in May 2008. Long before I was seriously interested in Moths, but still taken by its beauty. Can anyone help with ID please?

The Magpie Moth actually pupates above ground which is not the usual as Moths predominately pupate underground and Butterflies pupate above ground but this is one of the exceptions. I actually witnessed this Moth emerging from it's cocoon underneath my window frame several years ago so know it to be true. Naturegirl
