I did mean to watch it, but I was out (at my local natural history society meeting – urban flora . . . well I do go to urban areas once in a while!) so thanks for the recommendation, as I'll see if I can catch it up somewhere.

We saw the trailer for this- it's on Demand 5 catch-up, Faith.
The photography looked stunning, so definitely one I intend to watch.

Missed the first one but it looks like it's repeated at 03:10 on the 17th, it does look great so I will record the series now or I will forget!

Yes I did watch it on the second showing, but I don't know . . . monoculture conifer plantations are described as 'forests', mink are 'brutal' for catching water voles but ospreys are not brutal for catching fish, lambs are shown as an example of 'wildlife' . . . If you ever get a chance to see BBC Alba's 'The Loch', now there's a film (series of four, as here, in fact) – it's like you were just sitting in a hide with a pair of binoculars, watching everything happen for yourself, and the birds aren't given silly human names either. Sorry to be a bit of a purist, but there it is.

Watched the 'Spring' episode this evening on catch-up. It is beautifully filmed... although it did take me awhile to figure out that the strange branch beside the ospreys' nest was actually a camera. Duh-uh.

I've just been watching some of the first episode on catch-up. The photography certainly is stunning but I did find the voice over a bit irritating and the whole thing rather ponderous - so much so I got bored and turned off about half way through. Probably a reflection on me more than the programme - I have a short attention span these days!

Thanks NellyDee, Just watched the first one, look forward to the rest. I see your beloved pine martens are to feature. No programme will coincide with all one's own opinions, but that is inevitable.

I love it but I am biased I live here. I did not know that otters are rather partial to killing and eating beaver kits - quite the lurking predators. Oh and I learnt that I live in the area with the highest rainfall in the park! and I am one of the red squirrels unlikely alliances!
