I was trying to get a few shots of the village and the fireworks on Saturday night but was not successful (too far away from the action and not a lot of action anyway) so I tried a few shots of the sky. The colour towards the bottom of the photo is due to the lights in the village. It is just about possible to make out the main stars of Cygnus and the brightest ones in Lyra and Aquila. Dave

Nice shot! Do you just use a normal camera for that?? The village lights adds a nice effect I think Nige

Thanks Nige. I need to hone my skills quite a bit, I'm sure I could do better. Yes, it was taken on a normal camera. If you want any of the details, let me know and I'll PM you.
