I can't enlarge the images to ID them. Lots of moth species (and some butterfly) overwinter as larvae. They will be fine and have evolved to survive the cold.

I'd say best chance of survival is leave them to their own devices. Of course there is very high mortality for many reasons,but lepidoptera lay many eggs to overcome that problem. Must admit the few times I have brought caterpillars inside to rear have usually ended in disaster,mostly due to difficulty keeping foodplants fresh.
