Starting 2nd November 2015, 9pm BBC2, new location in Scotland - the Wildfowl & Wetland Trust, Caerlaverock Reserve, I am looking forward to it.

I'll be watching and as usual with the "... watch" programmes I will really like some parts and get annoyed at others. Generally I'm positive towards them especially if they encourage anyone to be more interested in wildlife and the outdoors. However, I wish there was not so much of the over the top, almost childish, "ooh isn't this so exciting", approach.
I'll be interested to see Caerlaverock as I haven't been there. I was once lucky enough to see several hundred Barnacle Geese (probably from northern Norway or Svalbard) arrive at the RSPB reserve at Mersehead which is only a few miles from Caerlaverock.
I hope, at some time on the programmes, they have Lloyd Buck and his birds.

I like the program over all- agree with Tringa about the "ooh isn't this so exciting" bits, but I suppose they do what they can to make it appealing to families with children. At least they don't shy away from showing what can at times be nature red in tooth and claw, and not just fluffy little cute things. I always enjoy it, although we usually end up recording it and watching episodes well into winter.

Is 'Mad Max' the Sparrowhawk the same Sparrowhawk that 'Fudgey' posted pics of on WAB?

Is 'Mad Max' the Sparrowhawk the same Sparrowhawk that 'Fudgey' posted pics of on WAB? I don't know, but wasn't he absolutely stunning? A great end to the series, I have to say the first night was a bit "slow", but it did get better. Shirl

I don't know Scout but, given where Autumnwatch was located this year, my first thought was also that the Sparrowhawk was one of Fudgey's/Alan's.

I only got to watch the first episode. Enjoyed that, though skipped through the deer and badger stuff as usual Will hopefully catch up with the rest over the coming days. Nige
