Anyone see the black, silver fox on TV last night? A marvellous sight but I do get a little concerned about such publicity in case some idiot tries to capture it. As they have been bred in the past for their fur, I also wonder if it may have escaped from someone attempting something like this.

I didn't see it, Alf... was it in the news? Years ago, the pub I used to use supported a nearby wildlife sanctuary, and they had several black and silver rescue foxes. I can't remember now if they'd come from fur farms, or what the story on them was. It could be the one on television was from an escapee from a situation like that, perhaps?

It was an item on BBC's One Show about a guy in Yorkshire who regularly has a black fox visiting his garden. I've tried to find a link to the item by putting BBC and black fox in a Google search only to find there are dozens of items about sightings all over the UK - so not as rare as I thought!
