Whilst out looking for water voles this morning, I found these on top of a mink raft. Most pieces are very thin and almost shell like others look like bone. I have never found remains quite like these, any ideas very welcome. Shirl  Whatstandwell_MinkRaft_Oct2015 by Shirley Freeman, on Flickr |

Fish scales, the thin pieces, just above 180/190mm on the rule.A few others are dotted around as well.

Many thanks for that, I described the remains to my other half on the phone last night and he said fish, brilliant - I wonder what would sit on a mink raft munching fish?

Added It seems otter and mink will leave fish scales so better keep a look out there, I have found otter spraint nearby recently so a possible there.
