From my purely amateur and inexpert view (and checking google images) I'm not convinced that they'd qualify as a definitive/classic Lenticular, but then some of those on google images don't seem to comply either : from Wiki, "Lenticular clouds (Altocumulus lenticularis) are stationary lens-shaped clouds".
The clouds in your pic look like they're on the move rather than being stationary, (hard to tell from a pic), and then, what shape is a lens? Usually round I'd have thought - all mine are!
I have a couple of weird cloud pics somewhere on the PC, I'll try and sort them out later.

As mentioned, a couple of cloud pics:- This one is not so obvious, but when you spot it you'll be sure I've tampered with the pic, I haven't, it's exactly how it was, it took me a while to spot it, I didn't know it was there when I took it.

Thanks for the replies. I can see the clouds in my shot don't exactly fit the description. Now that second shot Ayjay, that really is the start of the invasion!

LOL! Annoying is it not when you see something in your photo that you had not noticed at the time.

Spectacular and very unusual, Tringa. Wish I was there!
