I was blown away by the sky this morning - seemed like it was on fire. Alf

Really lovely photos, Alf and Helen! That distinctive hill in your photo almost looks like a pyramid, Alf... at first glance, I thought that sunrise was in Egypt.

Hate to disillusion you but the pyramid is actually next door's roof!

Sun still rising a bit too far South for a decent view from our property but this morning's sky was rather nice.

Could kick myself! Did you see the midnight 'sun'? Seems lots of people did and posted photos yesterday. Well waking up about 2:00am I thought the sun was out - bright round light showing on the shut curtains. It was the moon, never seen it so bright and glowing - beautiful. So I admired it for a bit and went back to sleep. Why oh why did I not get up and go get my camera!

No tell of midnight sun around these parts - rarely even a sighting of the moon these days because of the cloud cover. There was a brief hint of a sunrise showing (below) through the altostratus soon after 04:00 this morning but it soon disappeared as the cloud thickened.

Two offerings today. The first was a couple of days ago, the second this morning. I each case the cloud thickened and obscured the appearance of the sun. I don't know if it's the same blackbird in each one!

View to the North at 04:00 this morning. A little mist drifting in from the beck on the left.

Yesterday's dawn - a reminder that it wasn't wet ALL day.

Large golden moon over Loch Linnhe. This was after a hot sunny day (actually reached 25C!)A couple of hours later terrific lightning and thunder, there was far more lightning than thunder and it was the sort of lightning that just lit up the clouds - amazing!
