Lovely colours there, Helen. A very calming image.

I took this last week, but didn't get time to post it... I nearly deleted it, but thought the colours too nice to do that. It was really more blue-ish than purple, but this is how the camera saw it.

Looking as if Ben More was in the dessert. This was the Ben reflecting the sunset. The dark line across the bottom is the shadow of the mountains to the side of Ben More. It is a hazy photo as it was takenthrough mist. Evening light on Ben More by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

Around sunrise this morning.
Unfortunately blown highlights but I reckon the phone did a decent job.

That is simply stunning. It would make a beautiful painting.

Thank you. I'd like to claim my 'wonderful' photographic skills ( ) produced the shot, but it was just right place, right time.

So often I miss a decent shot because of bad timing - I recall not getting out of the car quickly enough to catch an otter in Loch Ewe - or by bad planning - in pre-digtial days I decided I did not need another film that night on the Isle of Skye and witnessed, from the Stein Inn, one of the best sunsets I (and quite a few others who had left their meals to photograph it) I have seen. The sunset tonight wasn't spectacular but I think it was pretty good and this time, on the way to shop, I had my camera. Dave ss270919GL by Dave Marley, on Flickr

That is a nice shot.
My missed-photo excuse is usually forgetting to charge the battery.

My mistake was charging the battery and then forgeting to put it in the camera. Harold.

Good one Harold.
I haven't done that but have, along with forgetting to charge a battery, decided the battery in the camera is OK only to find after a few shots it is, as the saying goes, 'bereft of life'.
